Who We Are
Founded in 1985, C-PORT (Conference of Professional Operators for Response Towing) serves the marine assistance industry nationwide. Our mission is to represent members with federal, state, and local agencies and groups, while advancing professionalism, safety, and sound business practices.
Our members are dedicated to providing prompt, professional and timely assistance to all boaters and to actively partner and cooperate with local law enforcement and U.S. Coast Guard. They are professionals, dedicated to the growth and development of their respective businesses and committed to furthering the advancement of our waterways and the boating community.
Milestones
- U.S. Coast Guard and C-PORT signed a Memorandum of Understanding detailing the parter relationship between the organizations.
- Prior to towing vessel inspections, launched ACAPT certification with U.S. Coast Guard support, recognizing companies that exceed regulatory equipment requirements and meet industry best practices.
- C-PORT maintains a risk management course library focused on industry risks.
- C-PORT created industry guidance documents to meet safety management system protocols.
- Partner agreements are signed with NASBLA, National Association of Boating Law Administrators, and ASA, American Salvage Association, furthering industry relationships on the water.
